If you are between the ages of 13 and 24 and looking to have some fun and connect with people your own age, then you’ll want to check out Rec for Youth.

Rec for Youth is a social club where youth of all abilities gather together weekly to enjoy sports, crafts, movies and other activities. Over the summer, the youth plan trips to Canada’s Wonderland, Cedar Park, local museums and recreation centers to name just a few. The group meets on a weekly basis alternating between the Uxbridge and Port Perry communities.

Planning

Our “Getting Connected in North Durham” is a transitional support model designed to assist high school graduates make a smooth and successful transition from school to the adult community. Community Facilitators are available to assist youth and their support circles through a holistic approach to life planning. Facilitators assist the youth to explore opportunities, set goals and get connected to their community.

* Easter Party

Time: 6:00 pm

It's egg hunting time. Come out for Youth Group's annual Easter Party. Drop off at 6pm and pick up at 8pm at the Port Perry Baptist Church. Cost is $3.

* Toronto Rock

Time: 5:30 pm

Come and watch the Toronto Rock Lacrosse team take on Rocester at the Air Canada Center. Have an early dinner or bring money to purchase food at the ACC. Drop off at 5:30pm and pick up at 11:30pm at the Uxbridge Baptist Church. Cost is $25 + money for snacks/dinner at the ACC.

* Salsa Dancing

Time: 6:00 pm

Tonight we have a volunteer to teach us all how to Salsa dance. Bring your dancing shoes and get ready to dance the night away. Drop off at 6pm and pick up at 8pm at the Port perry Baptist Church. No cost.

* Reptilia and Vaughn Mall

Reptilia and Vaughn Mall

Time: 9:00 am

Today we will be travelling to Vaughn to visit Repitlia, which is an indoor reptile and amphibian zoo. We will receive a guided tour, be hands on with some surprise creatures and even get to watch a crocodile have his monthly meal. Prior to going to Reptilia we will visit the Vaughn Mall and have lunch. Drop off at 9am and pick up at 4pm at the Uxbridge Arena. Cost $15 + pack money for lunch and spending money if you wish to shop.

* Pitch In Day

Time: 5:00 pm

It's Earth week. Come out and help clean up Port Perry. Gloves and garbage bags are supplied for you. Afterwards we will go to Tim Horton's for a snack. Drop off at 5pm and pick up at 7pm at the Port Perry Resource Centre. Please bring money to purchase a snack at Tim Horton's.
